This extension applies superscript and subscript formatting to chemical formulas in Writer documents in bulk. For example, if you run it on a portion of your document that contains "SO42-", that text will be converted to "SO42−". Go to "Tools" -> "Add-Ons" (at the bottom) -> "SuperbChemistry: Format selection or document" to format the selection (if you have text selected) or otherwise the entire document. After you install the extension, you'll need to restart OpenOffice before it will work. Much more information is maintained on the extension's page on my web site.

Installer only works with Apple OX
Using Windows 7 Open Office 3.4 pop up window says"Windows does not recognize file type .pkg file type". Perhaps the installer has a bug.
Thanks a lot it's very useful extension .

This extention is very good and really useful.
I have to do my chemistry homework many times using OpenOffice and this add-on let me save a lot of time.
I'm so used to having to manually go through a document and make the adjustments for subscripts and superscripts... and, only, later, to discover that I missed one or two of them. Never again! This is why oOO is good for (science) students, too :) Thanks!
