This major update to the extension restores compatibility with modern versions of OpenOffice (I tested it successfully with 4.1.7, but I haven't researched the precise minimum compatible OpenOffice version) and adds the ability to format a selection rather than the entire document and to undo a formatting pass as a single unit.
