Export, Update and Import your documents to and from Google Docs, Zoho and WebDAV servers.
With OOo2GD you may export to Google Docs, Zoho and WebDAV servers:
* Documents: ODT, SXW, DOC, RTF without modification, other known to OO.org after conversion to ODT
* Spreadsheets: ODS, XLS, CSV without modification, other known to OO.org after conversion to ODS
* Presentations: PPT, PPS without modification, other known to OO.org after conversion to PPT
For Google Docs you may export, update and import all your documents, spreadsheets and presentations, for Zoho you may export documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and import documents and spreadsheets, to WebDAV you may export what you are able to open in OO.org :-)
Needs Java 5+ to work.

Comments
I noticed that there were recent Java and OO.org updates (April 2008 - versions 5 and 2.4 respectively) and I'm not sure if those have anything to do with my problem:
I was able to import from GDocs once and then I switched my Java 6 version from 3 to 5 in the OO Tools>Options via these instructions http://docs.google.com/TeamPresent?fs=true&docid=ajg23wkfz9qn_449gt2kn8&skipauth=true&pli=1 and then I could no longer import. What occurs is that I can 'Get list' from the Google Account but nothing occurs when I click 'Open'. Export works fine. I also cannot see Google Docs menu or Toolbar buttons (nor can add button) but there is a Google Docs item in the 'File' menu; I have also referenced http://code.google.com/p/ooo2gd/wiki/KnownIssues
Amazing extension however, very nice work! I voted for the GDocs updating thing :D - I have no problem copying and pasting for the meantime, cheers!
"to Google Docs from OpenOffice.org, and from OpenOffice.org to Google Docs"
Isnt that quite the same?
You're right, my mistake :-)
I will change this.
Unfortunately I'm having trouble with it on XP. I've been uploading my documents repeatedly as I work on them, and instead of replacing the document since it has the same name, I have three copies of the same file in Google docs. Even worse all three of them are copies of the original one I uploaded without the changes I made to the document over time. This plug in shows promise, but make sure you back-up your documents to your hard drive.

Google Docs doesn't support updating, it's on issue list to gdata. You may vote for this issue at http://code.google.com/p/gdata-issues/issues/detail?id=277
I'm not sure of this issue with 3 identical copies, indeed it should be 3 copies but, from version 0.5 or something like this if you want to upload document which was modified OOo2GD shows prompt and asks if it should save document before upload, or it should upload last version form disk.
Just an FYI:
I have found that even though you are running Java 1.6 SE, there is a scenario where you are cannot enable the GDocs.jar, even though Addons.xcu and ProtocolHandler.xcu are enabled. For some reason, when I added this extension, it threw it under "My Extensions" within OpenOffice's Extension Manager. My "fix" was to manually remove the extension and re-added it under "OpenOffice.org Extensions". In doing so, I was able to Enable GDocs.jar without any errors.
This is a great extension, thanks for building it.
One question: when I logon to Google Docs via the browser, I get a list of all docs, whether created by me or shared by someone else.
The extension only gives me access to the docs I uploaded myself. Would it be possible to view all docs?
Thanks
Truly I don't know, I must to check it :-)
Hi!
I tried using the extension behind a company firewall. All http traffic is routed through a proxy. I could not find any place to specify a proxy. Is this supported or if not a planned feature?
Since this extension is using java, where would be the spot in the extension files, in which the java app is called? I could then insert my proxy digits manually into the code...
Cheers
Juergen
I'm trying to use this extension on Open Office 2.3.1 in Ubuntu 7.10. Our company has a domain with Google Apps. When I upload files, my login as username@mydomain.com plus password is accepted, and the upload works. However, while I can download the list of files via 'Get List' using the same credentials, clicking on 'Open' after marking a file in the list opens Firefox and the Google Docs login page (which does not accept an Apps login) instead of downloading and opening the file.
What I probably should have mentioned: we're using the German version of Google Apps.
Great ext!
But i would like it to just update a file previously uploaded instead of upload it again.
Thanks.
For now Google Documents List API doesn't support this :-( But I propose to vote for adding this by starring this issue: http://code.google.com/p/gdata-issues/issues/detail?id=277
i installed the extension
i hit the 'Google Docs | Import from Google Docs' menu
Google User Name: have tried 'username' and 'username@gmail.com'
Google Password: ********
clicked 'Get List'
machine seems to try to connect, and then nothing. no errors, no docs.
The "user credentials" appears to assume the standard Google Docs login. However, users of Google Docs as part of a Google Apps site, use a slightly different URL to log-in. For example, a "docs user" uses "docs.google.com" whereas an "apps user" uses "docs.my-domain.com".
Would it be possible to support Google Docs within Google Apps ?
I'm not familiar with the inner working of an OO add-on so this may be easy or not. My guess is only the configurable URL would need to be added.
Hi,
I just installed this extension today. When I wanted to import my documents from Google Docs, it only found my documents - Not my spreadsheets.
Does anyone know why? And what could the solution be so that I can import my spreadsheets as well?
Thanks in advance.
Schindler
Google Docs doesn't support yet downloading of spreadsheets in one GET request.... as a result of this for now only "text" documents can be imported from Google Docs to OOo by OOo2GD.
Okay, but do you have any idea if it will be possible at some point?
All you have to do is use your full login ID. username@domain.com
I tried it this morning and it worked great.
I thought I tried user@domain.com but must have made an error. Just tried it again and it works perfectly.
Is there a way to make this all work automatically in the background?
Hello, when i try to use the import command, I only see documents that I have hidden in google docs. Is there a way to see my unhidden documents? Also is there a way to see different folders?
Have loaded this extension but it refuses to run.
When I try to enable it from the Extension Manager I get the following error.
"Could not create Java implementation loader"
I am running on PCLinuxOS and with;
java -version
java version "1.6.0_03"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_03-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0_03-b05, mixed mode)
Jim!
Try #3 from http://code.google.com/p/ooo2gd/wiki/KnownIssues
This works great! I don't use google docs for editing, but it is a great way to get documents from computer to computer. My only concern is that this doesn't like to upload .ods documents. I have tried .doc .odt and .xls and those work fine, just not .ods. It pops up with an error: "Problem: Bad Request." any help?
I just can't find how it works... Can anyone tell me?
Linux - to the one's who have no fear of learning
I suppose you cannot see Google Docs menu, if yes please read this page http://code.google.com/p/ooo2gd/wiki/KnownIssues
Thanks for the hint.
It is working now.

Linux - to the one's who have no fear of learning
I've been trying to install this extension but halway I always get this message: "Could not create Java Implementation Loader", I cancel the process and it keeps installing but ut remains disabled.
Any clue?
I cannot find source of this problem, maybe Java is in wrong version? Extension needs Sun Java 6.0 SE.
I'm using Java 6.0 on Win XP and have the same problem.
While Google Docs is less than perfect (no support for landscape documents, formatting is pretty basic), this is a truly useful extension, especially since I work on a lot of documents on more than one computer, and I share documents with others who work from their homes. Thanks for making this extension!
So when you download your ODT files from Google docs again the formatting is not all screwed up? Because it certainly is here. This would be a perfect tool, except for that.
A great Addon for OOo and SO
Nice Job
i got the following error message "Problem: no object DCH for MIME type application/atom+xml".
I'm getting this in Windows Vista.
Please post reply when this is fixed.
Thanks!!
Same problem for me "Problem: no object DCH for MIME type application/atom+xml". Under win XP.
Does anyone actually have this working on Windows? Great idea, I hope that you can get it going properly, I'd appreciate a post by the author to see where he's at with it.
Cheers
B
For now to avoid "no object DCH for MIME type application/atom+xml" in OpenOffice.org 2.3 you must to use this workaround.
How I wrote somewhere under ;-) this problem occurs only in OOo 2.3. In 2.2 everything works fine.
I'm working on this problem but this may take time ;-)
still the same problem in windows vista,
after applying the workaround. Added folder containing the
four (4) files to the java class path and restarted soffice completely.
Still the same problem.
Sorry!
P.S. Played around with 2.3 a bit more: it seems that the google authentication
works fine then I get a different error message depending on what format
file I am uploading: for example, with the spread sheet in the
StarOffice format, I get this message:
Problem: No enum const class com.google.gdata.docs.DocumentListEntry$MediaType.SDC
??? Please let us know when it is fixed!!
How I understand you still see this message "no object DCH for MIME type application/atom + xml"
Did you add folder with JARs, or rather 4 JARs to ClassPath?
You must add 4 JARs to ClassPath.
Adding of folder wont help, if you added 4 JARs to ClassPath as seen on Page 10 of this presentation everything should work.
If not I'm lost and I haven't any idea what is a problem.
"Problem: No enum const class com.google.gdata.docs.DocumentListEntry$MediaType.SDC" means that Google Docs doesn't know format SDC
On the list of supported formats you may see that SDC format isn't supported.
For now you can upload those formats:
Documents:
* OpenDocument Text (.odt)
* StarOffice (.sxw)
* Microsoft Word (.doc, but not MS XML)
* Rich Text (.rtf)
Spreadsheets:
* OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods)
* Microsoft Excel (.xls)
* Comma Separated Value (.csv)
Presentations:
* Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps)
Workaround isn't perfect but it looks that for now it's only available option, in OpenOffice.org 2.3 was made some significant changes in loading of Java Classes and those changes makes some operations impossible to perform. If somebody is interested in details I described source of problems in mail on extensions developer list.
Thank you, putting the jar files into the class path directly has solved the problem
of uploading to docs.google.com
Thank you!!!
... odt is always the default on the systems where i normally work. I will try it again later...
.... I tested it under OOo 2.3 and I have errors.... With OOo 2.2 everything worked very well.
... i got the same problem under Linux
Hi Przemyslaw, i have tested it on Solaris. Installation worked as expected. When i try to upload a document, the dialog comes up, i could enter my data and after pressing the upload button i got the following error message "Problem: no object DCH for MIME type application/atom+xml". I used a oog680m4 (quite close to OO.org2.3) and Java 1.6. I hope this helps and welcome on board. I suggest further discussion on the dev@extensions.openoffice.org mailing list.
I tested extension under Linux (Ubuntu 7.04) and it worked.
Described problems under Solaris and Linux may be caused by a fact that you wanted to upload MS XML document, and this format isn't yet supported by Google Docs. I suggest to change document format to ODT or MS Word DOC [not MS XML] and try again. It should work :-)
Can anybody check if version 0.2 is working under Linux or other non-Windows operating system?
