This was developed in Openoffice Basic, v. 3.0.1 under Linux.
It should be system independent, however.
After installing the macro you should have an entry in Tools -> Add-Ons.
For ease of use I recommend adding a shortcut to the macro via the Tools -> Customize menu.
As of yet, there's not much error handling in the macro. On the other hand there's not much that can go wrong and what
goes wrong doesn't cause any trouble apart from not converting a character.
You need to have a unicode font installed that contains all necessary characters.

Arial Unicode (distributed with recent Versions of MS-Office and Windows (?))
How it works:
You enter a word in Latin letters and convert them to Greek letters afterwards running the macro.
Each Latin character corresponds with a Greek character that is similar in sound or appearance.
Exceptions (not so obvious conversions): q -> theta, y -> psi, u -> ypsilin, w -> omega, j -> ending sigma (you don't really need this since the macro checks for an s at the end of a word and automagically puts an end sigma there).
