Just copy the acor_ro-RO.dat file into the folder C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\3\user\autocorr in Windows, where "User Name" is the name of your user account.
Not tested in Linux or other operating systems, in my Linux Mint machine the folder is: Home\User Name\.openoffice.org\3\user\autocorr, but beware, the folders may be hidden... , "User Name" is the name of your active user account.
As unfortunately Open Office does not supply by default an autocorrect list for the Romanian language, I would like to share a list of approximately 9800 autocorrect entries covering common typos and also transforming words without Romanian diacritics into the correct version. It automatically substitutes misspelled words, for instance "acasa" is turned automagically into "acasă".
Known issues: - Not context sensitive - Although the autocorrect entries are defined as context sensitive, OOO does not recognize them as such, so "Acasa" is turned into "acasă". This in an issue of the program, not the list. Should you come with a solution to this, please let us know...
There is a problem with Romanian "cedilla" characters in version 3.0, that is "correct" words are marked as wrong by the spelling function, is not inherent to this list, but to the software itself, which uses the correct "commabellow". To avoid this, use version 1.0.1 instead, which works with the standardized "commabellow" version... In order to convert between the two, use my other extension: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/RomanianDiacritics which converts between the "cedilla" and "commabellow" versions and viceversa...
The list is pretty exhaustive, but not complete, could be useful on machines without the Romanian keyboard or for those usually typing without diacritics...
