This extension for OpenOffice.org provides the following 4 Calc functions to manipulate

2 KATAKANA: This function converts Hiragana characters into full-width Katakana.
3 HIRAGANA: This function converts Katakana characters into full-width Hiragana.
4 HEPBURN: This function converts full-width Katakana characters into alphabetic characters by Hepburn rule.

I switched to Linux and despite it being labeled system independent, I received an error that it will not work on my computer. I really need this for my spreadsheets and eventually my databases. I would even pay for it to be done. Email available upon request if the authors are still supporting this extension.

Actually, it would be more important to be able to convert romaji (Hepburn preferably, but Kunrei-shiki would also be nice) into kana/kanji since most English keyboards cannot enter kana or kanji. Going both ways (or all ways) would be best.

I will find this useful for translation purposes. However, could you please develop an extension to convert all of these to Romaji?
